Here are some places on the internet that we would like to share with you.
What is hospice care?
Hospice care focuses on maintaining patients' quality of life, as opposed to aggressively treating their illnesses. Psychological, emotional and spiritual support are offered to help patients and their families cope with the dying process.
Who uses hospice care?
Hospice is for patients whose illnesses are no longer responding to cure-oriented treatments, and who need pain relief and management of physical symptoms, as well as emotional and spiritual support. Hospice patients are typically in their last six months of life. They may suffer from cancer or end-stage heart, lung or neurological disorders.
Who provides hospice care?
A multi-disciplinary team, which includes a physician, a registered nurse, a social worker, a homemaker, clergy and volunteers.
Where is hospice care given?
Most hospice care -- 90 percent -- is given to patients in their homes. Another 10 percent is given at hospice facilities, which have home-like settings.
Is hospice care covered by Medicare and Medicaid?
Hospice care is a covered benefit under Medicare. The Medicaid programs of more than 35 states also offer hospice coverage. Many private health insurance policies cover hospice, and more and more HMOs offer it as a benefit. Hospices generally offer services based upon need. For this reason, they sometimes rely on grants and voluntary donations. Specific payment policies differ for each hospice.
Tree Givers memorials are one of the most meaningful ways to express your sympathy to families. While flowers will fade, the thought of a young tree being planted for someone will last a lifetime. The memorial planting is a remembrance of the past and at the same time a renewing of life.
