Thomas Martin McKenna

Thomas Martin McKenna, 79, of Festus died June 8, 2023, at Mercy Jefferson. Mr. McKenna was a well-loved educator at a variety of grade schools and, after his retirement, served as a volunteer at Mercy Jefferson Hospital. He was an avid reader, lover of trains, and enjoyed time spent with family and his wife of 56 years.

Born November 25, 1943, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Charles and Caroline (Talleur) McKenna.

He is survived by Mimi (Holtgrewe) McKenna of Festus; three daughters: Betsy (Gary) Stefan, Amy McKenna-Jones, and Meg Gundlach; one sister Carol Braun; five grandchildren: Kate (Matt) Nahlik, Emily Stefan, Maddie Gundlach, Luke Gundlach, and Caroline Jones; two great- grandchildren: Lucy and Nora Nahlik; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents; two siblings: Mary and Charlie; and two sons-in-laws Tom Jones and Cliff Gundlach.

Visitation-Friday June 16, 2023, from 4 to 7pm at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Missouri.

Funeral Service-7pm in the funeral home chapel.
