Steven Kent Lashley

Steven Kent Lashley, of Hillsboro, passed away on May 13, 2024 at 64 years old. Steve was a devoted husband, father, and the world's best grandfather and great-grandfather. Steve was an entrepreneur and started a business from his home that has since outgrown multiple warehouses and will continue on through his children and grandchildren. Steve graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a degree in Communications before settling in Hillsboro with his wife and children. Steve was a member of the Meremac Community Symphonic Band where he played French horn, and made many memories over the years in his beloved 1974 Volkswagen bus.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Jack Lashley; a son, Scott Lashley; and a granddaughter, Lauren Lashley.

Mr. Lashley is survived by his wife of 43 years, Victoria Lashley (nee Sherrell), daughters Wendy Lashley (Patrick Grove) and Erica (Kyle) Huskey, daughter-in-law Rebecca Lashley, his mother, Elaine Lashley (nee Holman), grandchildren Haley Huskey, Lillian Lashley, Mollie Grove, Cole Huskey, and Emmalyn Lashley, great grandchild Santiago Aguilar-Lashley, siblings Curtis (Tamara) Lashley, Brian (Joan) Lashley, Lisa (Steve) Isom, and Mark (Julie) Lashley, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, May 19 (family only from 2:00-3:00 pm). A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the same location on Monday, May 20 at 11:00 am with a graveside service following at Hillsboro Cemetery.
