Richard “Dick” Julius King, Retired Chief of The Hillsboro Fire Protection District and lifetime resident of Hillsboro, Missouri, died on June 3, 2020, in De Soto at the age of 77. He was born December 01, 1942, in Lincoln County, Missouri. Dick and his wife Brenda were married on December 24, 1970, in Hillsboro.
Dick’s career in the fire service spanned 50 years. He was a graduate of the Oklahoma Fire Academy, a longtime firefighter and later Chief of Hillsboro Fire Protection District. Hillsboro Fire Station #2 is dedicated to him. Dick also worked for Chrysler for over 30 years and most of that time was spent as Fire Chief of the Fenton Plant. Dick enjoyed Trout fishing, camping and especially watching Nascar.
He is survived by:
Wife- Brenda Lea King (nee Berry), of Hillsboro, Missouri
Daughter- Mary Ellen (Jason) Sparks, of Hillsboro, Missouri
Grandchildren-Hannah, Tessa, and Jaxson Sparks

Visitation: Friday, June 05, 2020, from 5 to 8 pm at the Hillsboro Civic Club, 10349 Business 21, Hillsboro, Missouri, 63050. Firefighter walkthrough will be held at 7 pm.
Funeral Service: Saturday, June 06, 2020, at 11 am at Hillsboro Civic Club, 10349 Business 21, Hillsboro, Missouri, 63050
Interment: Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, Missouri.
