Mary “Beth” Mahn, (nee Faulstich) 67, of Hillsboro, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 30, 2022. Beth was born on February 16, 1955, and grew up in south St. Louis. In 2020, Beth retired from her 34-year career as the Jefferson County Collector of Revenue. Beth took on many roles outside of her Collector duties, serving as President of the St. Louis Board of Mental Health and Missouri Collectors Association. Throughout her political career, Beth made many deep and meaningful connections with others that worked for Jefferson County, neighboring counties, and the state of Missouri. When she wasn’t running the Collector’s office, she was supporting her husband’s (Mike Burch’s) business, Burch Sports, and Novelties.
In her spare time, Beth enjoyed reading, cheering on the Cardinals and Blues, traveling to Florida to be with her daughter, Stephanie Mahn, and spending time with her grandchildren. Beth is survived by her husband: Mike Burch, daughters: Stephanie Mahn, Julie Burch, and Jaclyn (Burch) von Oven, grandchildren: Charlize, Ashton, Kaela Cook, and Braden von Oven, Brothers: Dale and Jay Faulstich. Beth was preceded in death by parents: August and Loretta Faulstich (nee Kloster) and brothers: Jan and Don Faulstich.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Hillsboro Community Civic Center on Saturday, May 14th from 9 to 10 am followed by the memorial service at 10 am. The family requests donations in Beth’s name to the St. Louis regional chapter of the ALS Association in lieu of flowers.
