On Saturday, February 4, Joyce Van Sickle sadly passed away at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband, Robert Van Sickle Sr, sister, Nancy McConkey, two sons, Robert and Daniel Van Sickle, and grandson, Russell Van Sickle. She was born on August 12, 1946 and grew up in Maplewood, MO. Joyce graduated from Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School and later, married Robert on May 23, 1970. They lived together in Saint Louis before moving to Hillsboro, Missouri where they remained for their 52 years of marriage. Joyce had many hobbies throughout her life including motorcycling, RV camping, and traveling. She was an amazing artist. Joyce loved animals, especially her late dog, a Bichon named Barney. Joyce was a devout Catholic with a deep love for Jesus Christ and attended the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where she also volunteered her time. Joyce was a kind and caring woman with a great sense of humor, loved by all who knew her.

 

Services will be held on Saturday, February 18th. Cars will form a procession at Brown Funeral Home, 103 4th Street, Hillsboro, MO 63050 beginning at 10:30 am and proceed to Good Shepherd Cemetery from there. Please be advised parking is very limited at the cemetery. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon at Knights of Columbus, 9330 Old State Route 21, Hillsboro to rejoice in the life of Joyce.
