Danny Jack "Jackie" Pogue
October 16, 1932
Danny Jack Pogue or Jackie as many knew him, was born in Ellington, Missouri to Otho "Peck" & Marie "Ree" Pogue. He was raised in Centerville, Missouri. Jack enjoyed the outdoors & hunting from a young age. He was drafted into the Army and was sent to Korea for the Korean War in 1953. He married Emma Lou Akridge on July 3, 1955, in Ruble, MO. They were happily married and best friends.
Jack became a Christian in 1963 at Sandy Baptist Church, was baptized at Sandy Creek at the covered bridge, and later was ordained as a deacon in 1969 at Sandy. Jack was a man who was always ready to help family, church family, and friends. He wanted no recognition and often tried to hide his good deeds. He was an attentive, fun & loving husband, father, and grandfather. He told his children that he would be willing to pay them, to get to spend time with and care for his grandchildren. He left a Christian legacy that has and will continue to touch generations.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lou (Akridge) Pogue, his parents, Otho "Peck" Pogue & Marie (Wilson) Pogue, his grandson Branden Schoonover and his brothers, Wendell, Kenneth, Wayne & Gerald.
He leaves many loving family members.
