Charles L. Benton, 80, of Hillsboro, died September 1, 2015, at his home. Mr. Benton, was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, and proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corp.Born January 17, 1935, in Steelville, he was the son of the late Sweeney A. and Virgie A. (DeWitt) Benton.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Mary Kathryn "Katie" Benton, whom he married on August 03, 1956, in Fenton, Missouri. Two sons: Andy (Trina) Benton, of Hillsboro, and Sweeney A. (Mary Jones) Benton, of Westfield Wisconsin, a daughter: Mary "Katie" Benton, of Hillsboro.; one granddaughter Nicole K. (Terrance) Menke, of Cedar Hill.; two sisters: Jean Fannin of Orlando Florida, and Donna (Ricky) Boone of Lincoln, Nebraska.; his mother-in-law, Marguerite McGivern, and his brother-in-law Doyle E. (Betty) DeWitt Jr. of Fenton, Missouri.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson: Bruce A. Politte, his brother Sweeney Benton and his father-in-law Doyle E. DeWitt.

Visitation: Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 5pm to 8pm at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Missouri.

Funeral Mass: Friday, September 4, 2015, at 11am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

Burial will be Friday in the Steelville Cemetery at 2:45pm

Memorials may be made Mercy Hospice or Good Shepherd Church
