Cremation Services

Cremation is becoming increasingly popular, especially amongst the babyboomer generation. Among the many reasons for this growing trend is many options cremation provides for a final memorial service.

Cremation gives people the flexibility to create a tribute that reflects the life being honored. But this doesn’t mean that aspectsof traditional funeral services have to be discarded. Even with cremation, a meaningful memorial that is personalized to reflect thelife of the deceased could include:

  • A visitation prior to the service;
  • An open or closed casket;
  • Special music;
  • A ceremony at the funeral chapel, your place of worship or other special location.
  • Participation by friends and family.
Commonly,cremated remains are placed in an urn and committed to an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium; interred in a family burial plot; or included in a special urn garden.

Cremation also gives families the option to scatter the remains. This can be done in a designated cemetery garden or at a place that was special to the person. Today, cremated remains can even become part of an ocean reef or made into diamonds.

What ever you choose, cremation or burial, traditional services or contemporary celebrations, we are there to help you.

Anatomical Donation-Wash. U

WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

The very heart and soul of medical education is to train future physicians to ease suffering and pain, to treat the sick and injured, and to improve the quality of life.
Those who help them attain these goals, most particularly those men and women
who will their bodies for medical education, are to be deeply respected and
honored. Most donors feel that they are making a unique and precious gift
to future generations of students by providing them with the most basic
information they will need concerning the science of human life and the art of
healing. In a very real sense, their gift helps others to live.

This precious gift allows students of chiropractic to study the science of the human body. It allows students to learn and understand the complexities of the human body in a far better manner than books or computer programs can ever do.  Logan College has utilized the body donation program for more than half of a century.

Becoming a future donor is easy. Donor forms can be requested from the Basic Science Division by telephoning 636-227-2100 ext. 1735 or 1949. Or by contacting Brown Funeral Home 636-789-4949. The requester is sent two sets of forms. The forms must be completed and signed in the presence of a notary public. One form must be returned to the Department in the self-addressed envelope provided and include the individual's original signature and the original stamp/seal and signature of the notary.
